Introduction to the Institute for Goguryeo, Baekje, and Silla Studies

The Institute for Goguryeo, Baekje, and Silla Studies (IGBSS) is an academic institution dedicated to re-examining East Asian ancient history and the origins of the Yuezhi people.

Objectives of the Institute

The core mission of the Institute is to clarify the origins of the Yuezhi through surname methodology and a political-economic approach, and to synthesize and substantiate, without bias, the debates between established historiography and non-mainstream historical perspectives regarding Goguryeo, Baekje, and Silla.

Major Research Themes

Examination of the origins of the Yuezhi through surname methodology and political-economic analysis
Comprehensive re-examination of East Asian ancient history with a focus on Goguryeo, Baekje, and Silla
Critical review of both mainstream and non-mainstream historical positions and cultivation of integrative perspectives
